Free Expert Psychology Support
Edinburgh University offers an excellent range of free psychological therapy sessions for children and young adults up to 26 yrs of age . These sessions are delivered by experienced psychological therapists and supervised therapists in training.
They are based at the Edinburgh University Central Campus , 8 Hope Park Square , Meadow Lane, Edinburgh, EH8 9NW.
They can offer help to children, teenagers and young adults with emotional difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, trauma stress, and self harm.

You do not need a GP referral to access this service, and whilst it is free, donations to the service are most welcomed.
Granton Youth Centre

Granton Youth, established in 2002, provides opportunities for young people aged 11 – 27 years living within the North Edinburgh areas of Granton, Wardieburn, Royston, Muirhouse and Pilton to engage in youth work, informal education and programmes supporting their involvement in positive activities and learning opportunities.
Granton Youth is recognised through its service delivery of open youth work, outreach work, detached streetwork, Counselling, volunteering and schools-based programmes to support and engage local young people, who actively participate in designing services and programmes Granton Youth, provide.
The Junction
The Junction is youth organisation operating in North East Leith for the use of the local 12 to 21 year olds. Tel: 0131 553 0570
The Junction take a holistic approach towards young people’s health & wellbeing, running many different support from help with substance misuse to counselling and using art therapy. The Junction run a social drop in on Wednesdays from 4 to 7pm. Young people can “hang out” safely in the space, which has a pool table and games. The people can also wait to see someone 1-1, while there. In the 1-1 space the young people can talk about whatever worries them or whatever they have on their minds.

The Citadel Youth Centre offers local children and young people aged 6-18yrs living in the Leith area, a varied programme of play, activities and educational opportunities designed to encourage, develop, reinforce their skills and self image in a safe and supportive environment. The centre prioritises work with children and young people experiencing difficulties and/or coming from a background of disadvantage. They offer weekly sessions with the Children’s Worker for children who would benefit from more intensive support
