Caring for a loved one is a wonderful act. However, it can put a lot of stress on that individual caring and quite often you are thrown in the deep end without much knowledge or information. It is like a full-time job with no instructions or training and can be challenging and at times extra support is needed. There are some services in Edinburgh that help and support with benefits advice, respite, social support, and carers rights. They can also give advice and support in emergencies such as you as a carer falling unwell or being injured and unable to care. By contacting one of these charities, you can be part of a community, therefore supporting one another and learning together.
provides support for unpaid carers in all caring situations and relationships. Contact details are below.
